Women's National Football Conference Announces Plans to Add Flag Football

WNFC Flag will launch in April 2024.

The Women's National Football Conference (WNFC) kicked off its quest to build a new standard for professional women's tackle football in 2019. Headed into year 5 on the field, the league boasts the most competitive brand of tackle football for women in the world, business is booming, and the league is achieving its mission to accelerate equity for women & girls through the power of football.

As of today, on the heels of the IOC approving Flag Football as an Olympic Sport for Summer Games 2028, the WNFC has expanded its reach to include flag football.

WNFC Flag will launch in April 2024 and has already received commitments of participation from all existing 16-member teams. An estimated 20 million people in more than 100 countries are currently playing flag football, which is growing in tandem with the exploding popularity of women's tackle football in the WNFC.

WNFC Flag will kick off with an exhibition season, playing regional matches in 2024 (alongside the launch of the WNFC regular tackle season), and expanding to national and global play in 2025 and beyond.
