Women's Football's Biggest Weekend Returns to Frisco as Texas Elite Spartans face the San Diego Rebellion at WNFC Championship Weekend

ESPN2 Championship Game Headlines Two-Day Celebration of Football, Family, Juneteenth, and Women's Sports at Ford Center



The Women's National Football Conference (WNFC) will bring the biggest weekend in women's football back to Ford Center at The Star on June 20-21 as thousands of athletes, fans, families, and football supporters gather for the 2026 WNFC IX Cup Championship Weekend.



The weekend culminates Sunday afternoon when the defending champion Dallas based, Texas Elite Spartans put their dynasty on the line against the rising San Diego Rebellion in the WNFC IX Cup Championship Game, airing live on ESPN2.


The Spartans enter the championship as one of the most dominant teams in women's football history, seeking to defend their title and further cement a legacy built through years of excellence. Standing in their way is a San Diego Rebellion squad that has emerged as one of the most dangerous teams in the sport and is determined to capture its first WNFC championship.


Saturday: Free Flag Football Day, Fan Fest and Elite Competition

Championship Weekend begins Saturday, June 20 with a full day of activities at Ford Center highlighted by Free Flag Football Day and the WNFC Fan Fest from Noon to 8:00 PM.


Families and fans will have the opportunity to step onto the field at Ford Center and experience interactive activities from leading sports and lifestyle brands including adidas, DRNX, Riddell Sports, Melo Munchies and more.


The day will feature the WNFC Varsity Top 100 Tournament Presented by adidas, showcasing many of the nation's top high school girls flag football athletes. Players representing more than 20 states will compete in one of the premier girls flag football events in the country as the sport continues its historic growth nationwide.


Saturday will also feature the WNFC Adult National Flag Championship, where elite adult women's flag teams compete for a national title. Among the athletes expected to participate are top ranked stars including London Jenkins and Kilolo Westerlund, two of the most accomplished players in the game.


Adding to the excitement, football creator and social media sensation AJ Greene will be on-site filming content and hosting his famous women's 1-on-1 competitions throughout the day.


Sunday Morning: Championship Breakfast Celebrates Leaders in Women's Football


Sunday begins with the annual WNFC Championship Breakfast, one of the most anticipated gatherings in women's football.


Hosted by Tommi A. Vincent, the event will bring together athletes, executives, coaches, partners, and community leaders to celebrate the growth of women's football while recognizing those helping shape its future.

Following the breakfast, attention shifts to Ford Center for the highly anticipated WNFC IX Cup Championship Game.


The nationally televised ESPN2 broadcast will feature play-by-play commentator Kyle Youmans, analyst Coach Jennifer King, and sideline reporter Maria Trivaplace, bringing fans coast-to-coast coverage of women's football's biggest game.


Kickoff is expected to draw fans from across the country as the Texas Elite Spartans and San Diego Rebellion battle for the IX Cup Trophy.


At halftime, fans will be treated to a special performance presented by DRNX featuring Detroit rap sensation and Roc Nation recording artist SBR Peezyy.


The Weekend Concludes with the WNFC All-Pro Game

Following the championship game, fans can stay for the WNFC All-Pro Game, showcasing many of the world's top tackle football athletes in one final display of elite competition.
