Week 7 of the Women's National Football Conference (WNFC) brought clarity for some and chaos for others. As we enter the final week of the 2025 regular season, the top 7 teams in the league have likely secured their spots in the postseason, but the battle for the 8th and final playoff berth is officially wide open.

With dominant wins by top-ranked teams and key losses by bubble contenders, all eyes are on Week 8, where the final playoff seeding, and the fate of several franchises will be decided.

Week 7 Results Recap

  • San Diego Rebellion 44, Oregon Ravens 0

The Rebellion reminded the league why they’ve been ranked #1 for weeks. With a shutout win in Escondido, San Diego improved to 5-0, solidifying their position as the top seed in the Western Conference. Their defense continues to dominate, while the offense remains one of the most explosive in the league.

  • Texas Elite Spartans 61, Houston Mambas 0

Another lopsided victory from the #2-ranked Spartans kept them neck-and-neck with San Diego atop the West. Texas has outscored opponents 219-6 over their last five games, and they’re peaking at the right time.

  • Washington Prodigy 37, Jersey Shore Wave 0

Washington locked in a playoff spot and delivered a statement win over the Wave. Jersey Shore’s hopes of a playoff berth took a huge hit with this blowout loss. The Prodigy are making a strong push for the #1 overall seed.

  • Mississippi Panthers 45, Florida Avengers 8

Mississippi bounced back in a big way. With one regular season game remaining, the Panthers are playing with urgency and firepower, led by one of the league’s most balanced offenses.

  • Chicago Winds 42, Tennessee Trojans 6

Chicago punched its playoff ticket while knocking Tennessee off the bubble, for now. The Trojans must upset Washington in Week 8 and hope for help across the league.

  • Las Vegas Silver Stars 0, LA Legends 44

In a statement performance, the Legends completely dominated the Silver Stars. With a 2-3 record and with one game remaining, LA is now very much alive in the playoff race.

  • Utah Falconz 24, Denver Bandits 7

Utah earned a hard-fought win and improved to 2-3. While they’re likely eliminated from the postseason, their Week 8 matchup could play spoiler for LA’s playoff hopes

Playoff Picture: Top 7 Are In – But Who Takes the Final Spot?

With just one week left, it appears the top 7 teams in the WNFC will remain unchanged:

  1. San Diego Rebellion

  2. Texas Elite Spartans

  3. Washington Prodigy

  4. Mississippi Panthers

  5. Kansas City Glory

  6. Chicago Winds

  7. Seattle Majestics

These seven teams have separated themselves, and while their final seeding may shift depending on Week 8 results, all are expected to make the playoffs.

But the real drama lies in the battle for the 8th and final playoff spot.

Contenders for #8:

  • Atlanta Truth (2-3) – Quietly climbing. They’ll need to upset the Mississippi Panthers to crash the playoff party.

  • LA Legends (2-3) – After dominating Las Vegas, LA has a shot. A convincing Week 8 win over Utah could vault them into the postseason, especially with tiebreakers now in play.

  • Tennessee Trojans (2-3) – Just took a tough loss to Chicago. They face Washington in Week 8 and need a win to stay alive.

  • Jersey Shore Wave (2-4) – Shut out by Washington and now on the outside looking in. They’ll be scoreboard watching with no Week 8 game.

Week 8: Everything on the Line

Week 8 will be the most consequential of the season. Not only are seeding positions for the top 7 teams still fluid, but the race for the #8 seed could see major swings.

Here's what's on tap for Week 8 games, with playoff impacts:

  • Kansas City Glory vs. Chicago Winds – A possible playoff preview with major seeding implications.

  • Washington Prodigy vs. Tennessee Trojans – Tennessee’s last chance.

  • Atlanta Truth vs. Mississippi Panthers – A de facto elimination game. If Atlanta pulls the upset, they’re likely in.

  • LA Legends vs. Utah Falconz – Win and wait. A blowout win keeps LA in contention.

  • San Diego Rebellion vs. Denver Bandits – San Diego seeks to clinch the #1 overall seed.
