With just two weeks left in the WNFC regular season, every snap, score, and ranking vote carries serious weight. Week 6 brought subtle but meaningful shifts in the national rankings that could impact playoff seeding, and potentially change who punches a ticket to Frisco in June.

Who Moved the Most in Week 6?
The top of the board remains unchanged, San Diego Rebellion and Texas Elite Spartans continue to dominate the polls, ranked #1 and #2 for the second consecutive week. But deeper in the standings, there’s movement worth watching:
Let’s look at the biggest risers and fallers between Week 5 and Week 6.
Biggest Risers
Washington Prodigy
Seattle Majestics
+25 points | Steady at #7
Seattle picked up major respect after their Week 6 win.
Oregon Ravens
+53 points | Up to #13
Oregon’s upset win over the LV Silver Stars catapulted them out of last place and into legitimate spoiler territory. Their late-season surge has caught voters' attention.
Biggest Fallers
Mississippi Panthers
-14 points | Steady at #4
Despite holding their rank, the Panthers took a hit in voter confidence. They'll need a dominant showing in Week 7 to fend off rising Eastern threats like Chicago and Jersey Shore.
Houston Mambas
-29 points | Down to #17
Shut out in Week 6, Houston slid to the bottom of the rankings. Depth and roster size continue to be major challenges.
Las Vegas Silver Stars
-23 points | Down to #12
After a promising start to the season, Vegas is now in freefall. Their Week 7 game vs. LA is must-win.

Biggest Movers in Week 6 Rankings
The top of the board remains unchanged, San Diego Rebellion and Texas Elite Spartans continue to dominate the polls, ranked #1 and #2 for the second consecutive week. But deeper in the standings, there’s movement worth watching:
Washington Prodigy (#3, up from 376 to 390 points)
Washington continues its push for a top-two seed with a dominant Week 6 win over Houston. Their consistent performance has pulled them within striking distance of Texas Elite for the #2 spot. Their Week 7 game vs. Jersey Shore is a must-win to keep pressure on the top.
Mississippi Panthers (#4, down from 369 to 355 points)
Despite their record, the Panthers slipped in total points. The drop suggests a tightening race between seeds #3 and #4, especially if Mississippi doesn't dominate against Florida this weekend.
Seattle Majestics (#7, up from 252 to 277 points)
Seattle made a statement with a win over the LA Legends and picked up crucial ranking points.
Tennessee Trojans (#8, stagnant at 219 points)
Even with no movement in points, Tennessee’s playoff hopes took a hit after being shut out by Kansas City. Their upcoming clash with Chicago Winds in Week 7 is a playoff-elimination game in all but name.
Jersey Shore Wave (#9, up from 203 to 215 points)
The Wave picked up momentum in Week 6 and could sneak into playoff contention with a win over Washington this weekend, which would send shockwaves through the Eastern Conference standings.

How the WNFC Rankings Work
Each week, WNFC rankings are determined through a hybrid voting system made up of:
Head Coaches from all 17 teams
The Women’s Football Rankings Committee (WFRC): a panel of independent media experts
Each voter ranks teams 1 through 17:
1st place vote = 17 points
2nd place = 16 points, and so on, down to 1 point for 17th place
Votes are weighted evenly, and total scores determine each team's rank. Voters consider:
Overall Record
Strength of Schedule
Head-to-Head Results
Common Opponent Performance
Points Allowed (Defense)
This system rewards competition and performance against top-tier opponents, not just win totals.
This year’s WFRC is stacked with game-changing talent: a combination of legendary coaches, broadcasters, and sports innovators. To learn more about the panel, head to our previous blog here.

Week 7 Matchups: What’s at Stake?
Chicago Winds at Tennessee Trojans
This is a de facto play-in game. The loser may drop out of the Eastern Conference tournament bracket entirely. Chicago needs to bounce back, while Tennessee must show they belong after back-to-back uneven performances.
Jersey Shore Wave at Washington Prodigy
Jersey Shore has momentum, and Washington is surging. A Wave upset could collapse the top of the Eastern bracket and boost their case for a postseason berth.
Las Vegas Silver Stars vs. LA Legends
A must-win for both. The loser likely falls out of playoff contention in the West. The Legends are desperate to stop their slide, while Vegas can’t afford another stumble.
Mississippi Panthers at Florida Avengers
Mississippi needs a decisive win to hold onto their top-4 spot in the East. A lackluster performance opens the door for teams in the hunt.
Houston Mambas at Texas Elite Spartans
The Spartans aim to continue their winning streak, eyeing playoff momentum.
Oregon Ravens at San Diego Rebellion
This one could shock the rankings. Oregon has momentum and nothing to lose. San Diego must win big to maintain the #1 seed and keep Texas Elite at bay.
