We're officially at the halfway mark of the 2025 WNFC regular season, and the stakes just got real. With three action-packed weeks in the books, fans and teams alike are starting to see the playoff picture take shape. With five thrilling weeks and 30 games still left to battle it out, the road to Championship Weekend at The Star in Frisco is wide open, but some teams have already made bold statements.

Let's dive into the Week 3 Rankings, where every game, every score, and every defensive stand has playoff implications.

How the Rankings Work – Breaking It Down:

Every week, rankings are meticulously crafted by a mix of our own WNFC head coaches and a panel of independent media experts, the Women's Football Rankings Committee (WFRC). These voters carefully consider multiple factors, including:

  • Overall Team Record (Standings)

  • Strength of Schedule

  • Head-to-Head Results

  • Comparison of Results Against Common Opponents

  • Points Against

This year’s WFRC is stacked with game-changing talent: a combination of legendary coaches, broadcasters, and sports innovators. Their weekly insights provide the authoritative voice on the pulse of women’s professional football.

Meet the 2025 WFRC Powerhouse Panel:

  • Alex Schafer – Broadcaster and analyst extraordinaire.

  • Andrea Snead – Champion player turned DEI advocate.

  • Bo McMichael – Entertainer, broadcaster, and motivator.

  • Craig Chatman – State-champion coach and seasoned analyst.

  • Oscar Lopez – Founder of Gridiron Beauties, trailblazing advocate.

  • Harley Kirsch – Former elite QB and AI sports-tech innovator.

  • Stephanie Balochko – Women's football pioneer and veteran coach.

These industry leaders have set the bar high, and their insights bring unmatched credibility to the WNFC rankings.

Week 3 Rankings Breakdown:

Here’s the top-tier landscape at the mid-season mark:

1. Mississippi Panthers (425 pts) – Central Division

Undefeated and unwavering. Mississippi remains locked at #1, flexing a relentless defense and explosive offense. Right now, they look unstoppable—but the target on their backs just got bigger.

2. San Diego Rebellion (392 pts) – Pacific Division

Holding steady at #2, the Rebellion have the swagger of champions and the stats to back it up. They’re ready to challenge for the crown, and a second-half surge could put them over the top.

3. Washington Prodigy (360 pts) – Atlantic Division

Prodigy continues to impress with clutch performances, putting opponents on notice with a balanced attack and disciplined defense. Their eyes? Firmly set on playoff glory.

4. Texas Elite Spartans (351 pts) – Central Division

Still elite, still dangerous. The Spartans are heating up at exactly the right time, proving once again why they remain perennial contenders. Look out for a fiery second half from Texas Elite.

5. Kansas City Glory (309 pts) – Central Division

KC remains a legit threat, keeping pace with high-octane offense and big-play defense. If you love offense, Glory games are must-watch TV in the back half of the season.

6. Chicago Winds (271 pts) – Atlantic Division

Chicago is quietly and confidently climbing the ladder. Their consistent growth and gritty wins have fans believing they're primed for postseason greatness.

7. Atlanta Truth (246 pts) – Atlantic Division

Atlanta brings fierce energy every week. With explosive talent and rising momentum, expect the Truth to turn some heads—and maybe flip some rankings—as the weeks roll on.

8. Seattle Majestics (241 pts) – Pacific Division

Seattle rounds out the coveted top 8, holding the line with a gritty style of play. They're on the playoff bubble, so expect urgency to define every snap from here on out.

Who’s in the Hunt?

Teams like Jersey Shore Wave (#9) and LA Legends (#10) are knocking loudly at the door, eager to disrupt the playoff party. The middle of the pack, Vegas (#11), Denver (#12), and Tennessee (#13) could still shake things up dramatically over the next few weeks. The playoff picture is far from finalized, and teams hovering just outside the top 8 are well aware: every game matters now.

If the Playoffs Started Today…

If the postseason kicked off right now, here’s what the playoff scenario would look like:

Western Conference Tournament (Portland, OR):

  • #1 Mississippi Panthers (Highest Central Division seed)

  • #2 San Diego Rebellion (Highest Pacific Division seed)

  • #3 Kansas City Glory (Wild Card - Geographic placement

  • #4 Seattle Majestics (Pacific Division auto-bid)

Eastern Conference Tournament (Nashville, TN):

  • #1 Washington Prodigy (Atlantic Division auto-bid)

  • #2 Texas Elite Spartans (Highest Central Division seed)

  • #3 Chicago Winds (Atlantic Division auto-bid)

  • #4 Atlanta Truth (Wild Card - Geographic placement

In this scenario, Los Angeles narrowly misses the cut proving just how tight the playoff race really is. Teams just outside the bubble, like Jersey Shore Wave and Las Vegas Silver Stars have plenty of motivation, and opportunity to fight their way in.

The Road to IX Cup Glory

Mark your calendars: May 19th is Selection Monday. That’s when we officially announce which eight teams have secured their spot in the WNFC Conference Championship Tournaments.

The Western Conference battles go down in Portland, OR (hosted by the Oregon Ravens), while the Eastern Conference showdowns take place in Nashville, TN (hosted by the Tennessee Trojans).

Winners punch their ticket to the IX Cup Championship at the legendary Star in Frisco, Texas. Watch all games live and replays on Victory+
