Riddell Named Exclusive Protective Headgear Partner for WNFC Flag Football Competitions
The Women's National Football Conference (WNFC) and Riddell today announced an expansion of their longstanding partnership, making Riddell the exclusive protective headgear partner across both WNFC Tackle and WNFC Flag Football events and competitions.
The expanded agreement builds upon a successful six-year relationship between the two organizations and reflects the WNFC's growing influence within the rapidly expanding women's flag football ecosystem.
As part of the enhanced partnership, Riddell will provide premium protective headgear for all athletes competing in the 5th Annual WNFC Girls Varsity Top 100 Tournament Presented by adidas, taking place June 20 at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The event brings together the nation's top high school girls flag football athletes and serves as one of the premier showcases in the sport.
In addition to supporting the Girls Varsity Top 100 Tournament, the partnership will provide exclusive access and discounts on Riddell flag football products and protective headgear for athletes participating in WNFC adult flag football competitions and tournaments nationwide.
"Flag football is creating new opportunities for athletes at every level, and we're proud to support organizations like the WNFC that are helping drive that momentum," said Erin Griffin, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Riddell. "As participation continues to grow, we're committed to supporting athletes across both tackle and flag football while helping advance the future of the women's game."
The WNFC has emerged as a leading force in the development of women's flag football through initiatives including the WNFC Girls Varsity Top 100, Got Her Back, the Adult Women's National Flag Tournament, and year-round athlete development programming designed to create pathways from youth participation to collegiate and professional competition.
"Riddell has been an incredible partner throughout our journey to elevate women's football," said Odessa Jenkins, CEO of the WNFC. "As flag football continues its explosive growth across high schools, colleges, and international competition, it is important that athletes have access to the highest-quality protective gear and accessories available. Expanding our partnership with Riddell allows us to continue prioritizing athlete protection while creating more opportunities for women and girls to compete and perform at the highest levels."
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for women's flag football, following the sport's rapid expansion at the high school level and recent recognition as an emerging NCAA sport. Through this expanded partnership, the WNFC and Riddell will continue working together to advance athlete safety, performance, and opportunity across both tackle and flag football.
The 5th Annual WNFC Girls Varsity Top 100 Tournament Presented by adidas will be held during WNFC Championship Weekend at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, alongside the WNFC IX Cup Championship Game on ESPN2 (June 20, 2026).
