Week 3 Plays of the Game

Florida Avengers at Philly Phantomz
Final Score: 20-8
Play of the Game: On fourth-and-nine from their own 20-yard line and 0:58 seconds remaining in the half, the Philly Phantomz failed to convert as the Avengers defense closed for a sack to give the offense an opportunity to add to their seven-point first-half lead. Two plays later, the Avengers scored a touchdown to go into halftime with a two-score lead.
Alabama Fire at Houston Heat
Final Score: 63-12
Play of the Game: Facing a second-and-17 from their own 19-yard line, the Houston Heat fumbled the ball which was recovered by Alabama’s Chardonnay Jenkins. Three plays later, Jenkins punched the ball in for her second touchdown of the game, extending the score to 14-0 and setting the stage for the blowout win.
Seattle Majestics at Las Vegas Silver Stars
Final Score: 0-22
Play of the Game: After jumping out to an early 15-point lead, both defenses stiffened up to keep the game close. An offensive penalty against the Silver Stars in the fourth quarter resulted in a fourth-and-14. The Silver Stars elected to go for it, and quarterback Cindylou Rasiang hit receiver Denajha Kie for a 55-yard touchdown to put the game away.
Los Angeles Legends at San Diego Rebellion
Final Score: 0-27
Play of the Game: Leading 14-0 in the fourth quarter, Rebellion running back Regina Escota took a handoff from the Legends seven-yard line and deftly evaded a tackle in the backfield. Escota broke two more tackles on her way to scoring her second touchdown of the day.
Atlanta Phoenix at Washington Prodigy
Final Score: 7-0
Play of the Game: Tied at 0-0 in the second quarter. With 1:52 seconds left in a first half that was riddled with weather delays and stoppages. After a short punt. Jene Walker put the Phoenix on her back and on a critical drive in Prodigy territory. After Walker broke a few tackles to get it down to the two-yard line. Atlanta wishbone QB Melyse Brown snuck into the endzone for the only touchdown of the day.
