Three Weeks Remaining. The Race Is Still On.

Five weeks into the 2026 WNFC season, one thing is clear. Nothing is locked in. At the top, the names are familiar. In the middle, the margin between playing and missing out entirely is razor-thin. And across the board, every team still has something to play for.
This is the stretch where seasons are defined. Not by potential, but by response.
THE TOP HOLDS, BUT NOT COMFORTABLY
1. TEXAS ELITE SPARTANS (+0)
Texas Elite remains in control, but the margin is being watched closely.
They continue to define the league’s most physical style of play, built on line dominance and tempo control. The Spartans haven’t just stayed at No. 1, they’re holding with consistency.
With San Diego right behind them, every remaining week becomes a test of endurance as much as execution.
2. SAN DIEGO REBELLION (+0)
Still one of the most balanced teams in the WNFC, the Rebellion continue to apply steady pressure at the top. Their ability to win without forcing mistakes keeps them firmly within reach of No. 1.
This is no longer about proving they belong. It’s about timing their push.
THE CHASE GROUP IS SET, BUT NOT SECURE
3. UTAH FALCONZ (+0)
Utah continues to operate with clarity.
Their system remains one of the most difficult to prepare for, and their ability to control games hasn’t wavered. They’ve created separation from the teams behind them, but not enough to relax.
They’re stable. But stability has to hold.
4. MISSISSIPPI PANTHERS (+0)
Mississippi is settling into form at the right time.
Balanced, disciplined, and increasingly confident, the Panthers continue to reinforce their place in the top tier. They’re not chasing headlines, they’re stacking results.
And that’s what matters most this late in the season.
5. WASHINGTON PRODIGY (+0)
Washington holds, but the pressure is real.
They remain firmly in the playoff picture, but the gap between staying in position and sliding back is narrowing. Consistency over the next three weeks will determine whether they rise, or get caught.
THE MIDDLE IS WHERE THE SEASON WILL BE DECIDED
6. KANSAS CITY GLORY (+0)
Kansas City continues to show it can compete with anyone.
The talent is clear on both sides of the ball, and when they’re in rhythm, they’re one of the most difficult teams to contain. Now, the focus shifts to finishing. Because in this range, one slip changes everything.
7. ATLANTA TRUTH (+0)
Atlanta remains right where it needs to be, but not where it wants to stay.
Their identity is holding, their offense continues to produce, and they’re still very much in the postseason conversation. But this is the part of the standings where movement happens fast. And rarely in one direction.
8. LOS ANGELES LEGENDS (+0)
Los Angeles continues to sit on the edge.
They’ve shown they can move the ball and compete, but the next step is closing games and creating separation. With teams behind them gaining momentum, holding this position will require more than flashes.
9. GOLDEN STATE STORM (+0)
Golden State has found consistency, and now needs to build on it.
Their defensive presence continues to keep them in games, and their offensive rhythm is improving. They’re close enough to move up, but only if they finish stronger than the teams ahead.
10. CHICAGO WINDS (+0)
Chicago remains in range, but time is tightening.
The defense continues to be a factor, but offensive production will determine whether they can climb. With three weeks left, the window isn’t closing, it’s narrowing.
THE FINAL POSITIONS UNDER PRESSURE
11. JERSEY SHORE WAVE (+0)
Jersey Shore holds position, but the urgency is increasing. They remain within striking distance, but need a strong finish to shift trajectory.
12. OREGON RAVENS (+0)
Oregon continues to compete, but hasn’t broken through. They’ve shown they can stay in games, but the next step is converting those opportunities into movement.
13. FLORIDA AVENGERS (+0)
Florida’s identity remains physical, but results haven’t followed consistently enough to climb. With limited time left, every possession now carries added weight.
14. SEATTLE MAJESTICS (+0)
Seattle continues to fight, but is still searching for a complete performance. The pieces are there. The execution hasn’t been sustained.
15. LAS VEGAS SILVER STARS (+0)
Las Vegas remains in a tight spot. There are flashes, but with only three weeks left, flashes need to turn into results quickly.
16. TENNESSEE TROJANS (+0)
Tennessee continues to battle, but hasn’t found the breakthrough. At this stage, the focus shifts to finishing strong and building forward.
WHAT WEEK 5 REALLY SHOWED
This week wasn’t about reshuffling the board. It was about reinforcing it.
The top tier is holding
The middle tier is where movement will define playoff positioning
And the bottom tier is still fighting to change its trajectory
HOW THE WNFC RANKINGS WORK
Each week, WNFC rankings are determined through a hybrid voting system made up of:
Head Coaches from all 16 teams
The Women’s Football Rankings Committee (WFRC): a panel of independent media experts
Each voter ranks teams 1 through 16:
1st place vote = 16 points
2nd place = 15 points, and so on, down to 1 point for 16th place
Votes are weighted evenly, and total scores determine each team's rank. Voters consider:
Overall Record
Strength of Schedule
Head-to-Head Results
Common Opponent Performance
Points Allowed (Defense)
This system rewards competition and performance against top-tier opponents, not just win totals.
