Got Her Back Charity is proud to announce the appointment of Ahada McCummings, as President of the organization, marking an important step forward in GHBs continued growth and national impact.

Got Her Back exists to ensure that girls who want to play football have access, representation, support, and opportunity; not just to enter the game, but to stay in it. Aligned with the mission and values of the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC), the charity focuses on girls and women in football, delivering programming that builds confidence, leadership, and long-term participation through sport.

Dr. McCummings steps into the presidency at a pivotal moment for the organization and for girls’ football nationwide. Participation for girls and women in flag and tackle football is growing rapidly, yet too many of them face barriers that limit access or push them out of the sport: cost, lack of infrastructure, and limited exposure to clear pathways forward.

Got Her Back was created to address these challenges head-on, and Dr. McCummings’ leadership strengthens the organization’s ability to meet this moment with clarity and scale.

A nationally respected educator, leadership strategist, and advocate, Dr. McCummings brings deep experience in organizational development, systems building, and mission-driven leadership. Her career has centered on helping organizations grow with intention—building structures that allow purpose, people, and impact to move forward together.

“Football has the power to change how girls see themselves,” said McCummings. “It builds confidence, voice, resilience, and belonging. Got Her Back is about making sure girls aren’t just invited into the game, but supported well enough to remain and thrive.”

As President, Dr. McCummings will serve as the senior volunteer leader of Got Her Back Charity, working in close collaboration with the founders and the organization’s executive leadership to guide strategy, expand programming, and strengthen partnerships. Her focus will include activating the charity’s mission more fully, supporting sustainable growth, and deepening community impact across markets where girls’ football continues to expand.

“Got Her Back is essential to the future of football,” said Founder and Chairwoman Odessa “OJ” Jenkins. “The professional game shows what’s possible. This organization ensures girls have the access, confidence, and support to believe they belong on that path. Ahada brings the leadership and vision needed to help us grow with purpose.”

Since its founding, Got Her Back has delivered FREE camps and clinics to thousands of girls around the nation, partnered with community organizations and national brands, and created spaces where girls can show up fully, athletes, leaders, and young people discovering their power through sport.

Dr. McCummings’ appointment signals a new chapter for Got Her Back, one focused on activation, alignment, and long-term impact, so that as football grows, girls are not only welcomed into the game, but kept in it.
