Today, the WNFC announced the IX CUP CHAMPIONSHIP location. Back in November 2018, the league shared that their championship game would be held in Denver, Colorado. Today the league announced that the event would be hosted at the beautiful Marv Kay Stadium at Campbell Field. Marv Kay is one of the most beautiful fields in Denver, Colorado.
Opened in 2015 on the site of historic Campbell Field, the $21 million project seats more than 4,000 fans, with a two-level home grandstand on the south side and visitor seating on the north side.
Adidas is a title sponsor of the WNFC and IX Cup, as apart of their breaking barriers initiative and commitment to remove barriers in sport.
The WNFC conference champions will play for the IX Cup trophy, which honors female advancement in and outside of sports. The IX Cup borrows its name from “Title IX”, which is a Federal Law in the US, which bans discrimination or access to sports on the basis of sex.
Although title IX focuses on institutions funded only by the Federal Government, the WNFC exist and works to amplify the cause of empowering women and girls across the world through the sport of American Football. We believe that women and girls should have access to the highest quality of equipment, safety and exposure as men in the sport of football. “Our national champion, and winner of the IX cup will be a reminder of that purpose for years to come.”
